About TidalWalk

TidalWalk sits on 106 acres, where construction began in 2007. It’s planned to feature 198 home sites and as of April 2015, the community is about 70% completed. The community’s original developers were Tim Wilson of Latheron & Gunn, Inc. and James Martin of Martin Development Group, both of Wilmington. After the housing market crash, the development went into foreclosure and building halted. Then, in 2010, the property was purchased by Mountain Real Estate Group and LStar Management and construction continued.

Properties and Homes in the TidalWalk Community

TidalWalk features homes with prices ranging from the mid $300,000s to more than $3 Million. Most are being sold at prices ranging from $350K to $650K. The median home sales price for the community is $390,260. For lots, the median price over the last 12 months is $119,200.

The neighborhood is made up of five different neighborhoods. These include The Cottages, The Hammocks, The Sands, The Marshes, and The Beaches. The Cottages offer the most affordable homes in the community, while The Beaches is where home buyers will find the most expensive homes in TidalWalk. Homes in The Beaches all offer panoramic views of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean.

TidalWalk builders include 70 West Construction, ATD Construction, DR Horton, Laurel Homes, Mark Johnson Custom Homes, the Plantation Building Corp., and Tongue and Groove.

Schools Serving the TidalWalk Community

Families with children in TidalWalk have a number of private schools to choose from along with the regional public school system, which includes Edwin Anderson Elementary (7/10 rating), Charles Murray Middle School (9/10), and Eugene Ashley High School (6/10). Private school options include the Wilmington Academy of the Arts & Sciences, Coastal Christian High School, Myrtle Grove Christian School, Cape Fear Academy, and New Horizons Elementary.

TidalWalk’s Home Owner’s Association

The TidalWalk community is managed by Premier Property Management. As of July 2015, the monthly HOA dues are $70, which covers the clubhouse, pool, fitness center, and street maintenance as well as the master insurance and management fee.

Nearby Attractions and Amenities

TidalWalk is about a ten minute drive to Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, which offer several activities for the whole family to enjoy.  Watch fireworks and listen to live music at the Carolina Beach boardwalk during the summer, or go to Britt’s Donuts to eat the most delicious donuts! Of course there are the “usual” beach activities such as surfing, stand-up paddleboarding, fishing, or just relaxing on the beach. In addition, there are several shopping options about ten minutes away in Monkey Junction that include grocery stores (Lowe’s Foods and Food Lion), home improvement stores (Lowe’s and Home Depot), Wal-Mart, and several restaurants.

As for neighborhood amenities, TidalWalk has plenty to offer. It has a 3,700 square-foot multi-million dollar clubhouse with a sprawling nine-foot-wide porch, a saltwater swimming pool and sauna, a fully-equipped fitness center, a 10-slip marina, a 150-foot community pier with gazebo, and a ¼-mile stretch of private beach on the Intracoastal Waterway complete with its own private island, Green Turtle Hammock Island.
