Wilmington, NC- If there were any concern that the coronavirus and a sluggish economy would put a damper on sales, it appears just the opposite is true. At least when it comes to high end homes June turned out to be one of the most successful months ever. A record number of 51 homes, priced at one million dollars or more, went under contract in the month.
The bulk of the homes were located in New Hanover County where offers were accepted on 29 luxury properties. Brunswick County saw an additional 20 homes go under contract, with two more in Pender County. These numbers break the mark set in June 2005 when 42 homes went under contact in the tri-county area.
This home in Bolvia was one of those that went under contract in June. It’s located on 491 Deep Water Drive. The home features four bedrooms, six full baths and two half baths. It measures just under 6,800 square feet. It was listed by Pam Lawrence, RE/MAX Southern Coast.
The number of closed deals were also up with each of the three counties compared to June 2019. In New Hanover County, 20 homes sold for a collective value of $28.7 million. Another eight properties sold in Brunswick County for $12.3 million. In Pender County four homes sold for a combined $6.6 million.
