Wilmington, NC- Another month and another record breaking performance for the local luxury housing market. November 2020 proved to be the most successful November for high end home sales ever recorded in the tri-county area. A total of 43 properties, with price tags of at least $1 million, sold for a combined value of $72.5 million. The prior best November was 2005 when a total of 23 homes sold for $32.9 million.
Pender County led the way, with not only its best November, but its best single month ever. A total of nine luxury homes sold for a combined amount of $12.3 million. This shattered a mark set only this past September when four homes sold in the county for $5.5 million.
“Things are happening in Pender County. More and more luxury buyers are checking it out,” said Kathleen Baylies Broker-in-Charge at Just For Buyers Realty. “The numbers first started to tick up last year and have only accelerated this year. It’s not just the beach communities, like Topsail and Surf City, account for most of the activity, but you’re seeing million dollar homes being listed in Rocky Point and Hampstead.”
The estate located at 45 N. Kingfisher Lane in Hampstead is an example of high-end living in Pender County. With an asking price of $3.4 million, it is the most expensive existing property in the county. It measures 6,400 square feet with four bedrooms and four baths on 18 acres on Virginia Creek and includes a five stall barn. The listing was one of six luxury properties to debut on the market in Pender County during the month
