Luxury housing market ends its best year ever with nearly a billion dollars in total sales

Inside the December real estate numbers
Year-to-year sales dropped by double digits in December, with a nearly 9% decrease in the number of homes going under contract. The experts warn this is not a sign of a slow down. Instead the problem is the overwhelming decline in inventory. With fewer homes on the market sales have obviously dipped, but the competition for those homes may be at an all-time high.
