Carolina Beach Shifts into Reverse on Parking Debate

Carolina Beach, N.C.- A lot of our buyers ask us about paid parking at the beach when they consider a move here.  This month, we have some good news for those looking for some free spots!

On Tuesday night (March 15, 2022) the Carolina Beach Town Council changed its mind on a controversial year-round paid parking plan. The board voted to continue to keep street-side parking free from December 1- February 28th.  During that time parking meters will be covered with bags- which have become a traditional site in the beach community during the winter months.

The vote, which passed on a 3-2 margin, changes a decision that was made late last year when the town council voted to expand the parking season at a reduced rate during those three months.

The reversal comes on the heels of complaints from residents and business owners who were unhappy with the year-round paid meters.

How Buyers Can Compete in a Seller’s Market: Tips from the JFBR Team

This can be a frustrating time for real estate buyers. The leverage is with the sellers. Homes in the Cape Fear region, and in many other parts of the country, are receiving multiple offers and often times going for above asking price- sometimes within hours of going on the market. How can a buyer survive this competitive market? The JFBR team offers tips that may get you through these tough times.

How Much Above Asking Price Should You Offer? This Study will Help!

In any market figuring out how much to offer for a home can be tricky. When there are more sellers than buyers, then the opportunity to go back and forth in negotiations always exist. In those situations your offer may be countered and then you can counter that, until a deal is finally reached. In a competitive seller’s market you probably have one chance to get it accepted. Our team recently conducted a study that may help figure out the numbers.

5 Tax Breaks for Homeowners

Are you taking all of the tax deductions allowed to homeowners? With this year’s deadline less than a month away, here are some ways that homeownership can help to lower your tax burden.

Brunswick County Tops New Hanover in February Luxury Sales

Last month 39 luxury homes sold in the tri-county area for a combined total of $64.3 million. For the fourth time in seven months, sales in Brunswick County outpaced those in New Hanover County. Click here to read the JFBR Luxury Report.

February Sales Numbers

Sales are down year-to-year. That is also true for pending sales and new listings. The key number though is prices are up. That is a sign of an inventory crisis where the demand exceeds the supply.
