WILMINGTON, N.C.- Another national publication is giving props to Wilmington and the Cape Fear Region. Conde Nast Traveler says that this is a place you have to visit.
The online publication came out with its annual Readers’ Choice Awards. In the category of the best U.S. small cities to visit, Wilmington was ranked #10. The list was compiled from over 240,000 ratings from readers
Wilmington was the only city in North Carolina to break into the top 10 list, and this marks the first time Wilmington has made the list.
Wilmington was recognized for its quaint downtown, with its “picturesque architecture and pedestrian friendly Riverwalk.”
The article also gave Wilmington high marks for the number of live oak trees, Hollywood productions that have been produced here, and it mentioned the USS North Carolina as a destination for history buffs.
