Wilmington- This month, a romantic thriller called One True Loves hits select theaters across the country. It’s based on a New York Times Best Seller by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
The story is about a widow who lost her husband in a helicopter crash. After years of grieving, she is finally willing to give love a second try. She meets a man who takes her on a worldwide adventure; Singapore, Rome and Bangkok, and then they come back to their native Massachusetts where the bulk of the movie takes place and where the plot takes a dramatic twist.
It turns out the widow’s husband is very much alive. He somehow survived the fiery crash and has come back to rekindle his marriage. The rest of the movie is about the emotional and romantic conflict our main character endures. If you want to learn more about the movie, here is a link to the trailer.
We bring all this up because even though it is set in Massachusetts, most of the film was shot in Wilmington. You can see several local landmarks in the production; Pomegranate Books, Two Wheeler Dealer, Johnnie Mercers Pier, Winnie’s Tavern, the New Hanover County Judicial Building, Thalian Hall, Finkelstein’s music store, even the Catch food truck pulls up in one big scene.
And then there is the house that our hero lives in. A beautiful log cabin home, the appears to be in secluded woods some place outside of Boston.
That house (currently listed at $554,900) is actually located on the east side of Wilmington and it just hit the market this week. Listed by Leila Tabatabai of Coastal Select Properties, the home measures more than 1,700 square feet with two bedrooms, plus a loft bedroom, and two and a half bathrooms. It also comes with deeded water access to the Intracoastal Waterway.
This property is part of our weekly Unique Homes Report. JFB has no vested interest in this listing. We only work with buyers. If you’d like to schedule a showing call our team today at 910 202-4813.
