Sneads Ferry, NC- On Saturday April 29, it’s likely that folks in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut woke up, opened the paper (or logged onto a journalism website) and for a moment sat in silence with their jaw on the floor.
What stopped them in their tracks was an aerial photograph of a home, located all by itself, on a private island, seemingly in the middle of the Atlantic.
You can almost hear them wonder “Wow! Where in the world is that?”
The answer is Sneads Ferry, North Carolina.
The New York Post, which regularly writes about interesting luxury homes on the market, last month featured the Onslow County estate located at 400 Waterway Drive. The five bedroom, four bath estate measures more than 4,500 square feet. It is located on a private four-plus-acre island.
According to the post the current owners purchased the home back in 2017 for $500,000 — and completely renovated and modernized the space. Features include a a private gated entrance, a wraparound deck, a saltwater pool, private beach with an interior that boasts high ceilings, a living room with a fireplace and an adjacent kitchen with an expansive island.
Three of the bedrooms are located on the second level along with a home office and a loft area. The primary bedroom spans the entire third floor. The estate, listed by Tidal Realty Partners and Matthew Kane, hit the market the first week of April with an asking price of $2,400,000.
