Wilmington, N.C.- If you live in Wilmington and have never tried the food at On Thyme restaurant, chances are you have at least seen the mural as you drove by on Castle Street. It’s impossible to miss the colorful drawing on the front of the building. Now, thanks to a competition, you have incentive to not only enjoy the artwork but to stop inside and try the food.
On Thyme is one of 10 winners of a competition held by Pepsi Co. The soft drink company recently launched their “Dig In” effort to identify the best “black-owned” restaurants in the country. The company worked in conjunction with Tik-Tok star and food reviewer Keith Lee for the challenge.
The official rankings will come out later this month but On Thyme told WECT television that it finished somewhere in the top five.
Before establishing the restaurant, On Thyme was a popular food truck and catering business. The Castle Street restaurant features burgers, seafood, wings and more.
