L.O.V.E. stands for “Live On Vacation Everyday.” It is our JFB mantra to remind ourselves that we live in a truly special part of the world, and that we need to get out there and enjoy our surroundings!
Kayaking is a huge part of the Cape Fear experience. When you have the ocean to the east, and a large river to the west, that means you have creeks, tributaries, and lakes in between that can only really be enjoyed on a smaller vessel.
Kayaking is much cheaper than owning a boat. There are some models with all the bells and whistles that sell for a couple of thousand dollars, but most have price tags of only a few hundred bucks. On top of the initial purchase there is no expensive gas to buy, you don’t need to rent a slip at a marina or a trailer for transport. Most kayaks can fit inside a long SUV or on the roof of any other style vehicle.
There are two-people vessels, but far and away the most popular models are the ones built for the individual. People love kayaking because it not only gets you on the water, but if gives you a chance to explore. There are details you discover when you move at a slower pace, that you would totally miss if you were cruising on by. It is also an incredible cardiovascular workout.
So grab the sun tan lotion and, if you like, take the fishing pole, too. These are photos of JFB friends and family members who are Living On Vacation Everyday on board their kayak.
