Oak Island is getting some national attention. The Southern Living website named the Brunswick County town as one of the top 15 beaches in the southern United States. The list was voted on by readers, and Oak Island is the only beach in the Cape Fear region to make the list.
The eight-mile-long beach received high marks for its proximity to both Wilmington and Myrtle Beach, and because it flies under the radar, making it the perfect location to unplug.
