A New Brunswick road will soon connect two busy highways.

Getting around Southport could soon be a lot easier. Motorists will soon have a new road to help them navigate around conjected traffic. The North Carolina Department of Transportation are working to construct a road that will extend Old Long Beach Road SE. The road will connect at the intersection of the Southport Crossings Shopping Center and N.C. 133 and will serve as the connection between N.C. 133 and N.C. 211 after the construction of the N.C. 133 bridge over N.C. 211. The road is expected to be completed within the next two months.
A Proposed Apartment Complex will now be a Townhome Community

The developers of a plot of land located at 5322 Carolina Beach Road, adjacent to the Whistle Express Car Wash, have revised their plans for the property’s future. Brightwater Development Company initially planned to build a 200-unit rental apartment complex. However, after concerns about density were raised by county officials, the company has decided to pursue a new plan featuring 133 single-family townhome units. The updated plans include first-floor garages and driveways. The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the rezoning.
New Apartment Complex Could be coming to Wilmington’s Sunset Park Community

Developers are seeking approval to build a two building apartment complex to be located at 1805 Adams and 1812 Washington streets inside the Sunset Park Community. The first building is designed as 12 two-bedroom apartment units, divided into two sections of six units each, connected above a ground floor breezeway. A second building, a two-story two-unit structure, would include 2,500 square feet of commercial space below the residential units, according to the concept plans. The Wilmington city council unanimously approved the plans for the apartments, but there is no word on when construction will start.
Plans Move Ahead For Castle Hayne Business Park

The New Hanover County Planning Board has advanced a request to rezone nearly eight acres located at 5000 N. College Road. This decision clears the way for a proposed business park, which would include a retail building and four buildings designed for flex commercial and office space. The Planning Board unanimously recommended the project’s approval, and the rezoning will next be considered by New Hanover County’s Board of Commissioners for final approval.
Salvation Army Center of Hope

A new Salvation Army facility, aimed at housing the unsheltered community, could open in Wilmington as early as the spring. Once complete, the facility will provide shelter housing for approximately 75 people. This includes accommodations for up to 12 women on the women’s side, up to 38 men on the men’s side, and small family suites, which can house up to 25 people. The foundation of the facility has been laid, and construction is expected to be finished by April with the facility opening in May or June
