Airlie Gardens is calling all artists for its 2025 outdoor art exhibit, Birds of a Feather! If you’ve ever wanted to see your artwork displayed in one of the most beautiful spots in New Hanover County, now’s your chance.
For the 13th consecutive year, Airlie Gardens will host an art exhibit featuring talented artists from around the region and state. This time, the spotlight is on birds—specifically, ten oversized fiberglass bird sculptures that artists will paint, decorate, and transform into vibrant works of art. These stunning sculptures will be placed throughout the gardens, giving visitors a unique and creative birdwatching experience from July through December 2025.
“Each year, this outdoor exhibit gives artists the opportunity to showcase their creativity,” said Jodi Rich, Airlie Gardens’ Guest Services Manager. “This year’s theme will give garden visitors a different kind of birding experience at Airlie Gardens. This annual showcase is always an anticipated addition to the grounds, and we can’t wait to see what creative designs are submitted this year.”
If you’re an artist looking to take part, you’ll need to submit your application by Friday, March 14, 2025. Designs will be chosen based on creativity, craftsmanship, use of materials, ability to appeal to all ages, and durability for outdoor display.
