Former UNC Coach Mack Brown Lists Figure Eight Island Home for $12.75 Million
If you’ve ever dreamed of owning a luxurious oceanfront home on Figure Eight Island, here’s your chance—one with a little bit of sports history attached. Former University of North Carolina football coach Mack Brown has put his stunning beach house back on the market.
Brown, who parted ways with UNC in November 2024, originally bought the five-bedroom, 5,701-square-foot home with his wife, Sally, in May 2022 for $10 million. Now, the property at 260 Beach Road North is listed for $12.75 million. The property is being represented by Sam Crittenden of Sotheby’s International Realty.
Brown is also selling his Chapel Hill home just minutes from UNC’s campus, with an asking price of $6.6 million.
For Tar Heel fans, Brown’s name is legendary. He’s the winningest coach in UNC football history, first leading the program from 1988-97 before heading to Texas, where he won a national championship. After a brief retirement, he returned to coach UNC again from 2019-24. Now, it looks like he’s making another big transition—this time, off the field and out of North Carolina.
