You know summer’s right around the corner when Britt’s Donut Shop fires up the fryer. And guess what? That time is almost here! Britt’s is officially reopening on April 4 at 4 p.m.
Now, sure, there are plenty of places to grab a donut. On the way to Carolina Beach, I’ll pass a Krispy Kreme, a couple of Dunkin’ locations, . Because Britt’s isn’t just a donut—it’s a tradition.
If you’ve been, you get it. If you haven’t, well, you might be one of those people who stands in line, takes a bite, and says, “Okay, but it’s just a donut.” And technically, you’re not wrong. But Britt’s is more than the melt-in-your-mouth glaze. It’s the memories, the boardwalk, the way it signals that warmer days and beach nights are here.
Every region has its seasonal must-dos. In the fall, folks up north head to cider mills. Down in Louisiana, crawfish season means spring has arrived. And here in Carolina Beach? We know summer’s on the way when Britt’s opens its doors.
So, if you’ve been waiting all winter for that first bite—good news. The wait is almost over.
