If you’ve ever stepped on a LEGO in the dark, you know these little bricks leave a big impression. Now in 2026, they’re doing the same for Wilmington.
For the first time ever, the Wilmington Brick Convention is headed to the Wilmington Convention Center, turning the space into a colorful playground for builders, collectors, kids, and kids-at-heart. The two-day event is set for September 12 and 13, and it promises to be a weekend packed with creativity, imagination, and more LEGO builds than you can count.
This isn’t just about playing with bricks. The convention will feature appearances by professional LEGO artists from across the country, giving fans a chance to meet the people who turn tiny pieces into incredible works of art. You’ll also find live building demonstrations and massive LEGO displays, including life-sized creations that are sure to stop you in your tracks.
For those who want to get hands-on, there will be a huge “Construction Zone” filled with thousands of bricks where anyone can jump in and start building. Different themed areas will let imaginations run wild — from a Star Wars section inspired by a galaxy far, far away, to medieval-style castle builds, brick pits for free play, and a fan zone highlighting local LEGO creators from our own community.
Collectors and shoppers will have plenty to explore too. Vendors will be on site offering everything from brand-new sets to rare and retired finds, along with LEGO-themed merchandise you won’t see in regular stores.
And there’s a heart behind all the fun. Proceeds from the convention will benefit Creations for Charity, a nonprofit that delivers new LEGO sets to children in need around the world during the holidays — so every ticket helps spread a little joy.
Tickets are priced at $14.99 and are good for either Saturday or Sunday. Whether you’re a serious builder, a casual fan, or just looking for a fun family outing, this convention is shaping up to be one of Wilmington’s most creative weekends of the year.
