January 13, 2022 By Just For Buyers Realty

Those of us who live year round in the Cape Fear region know there is an abundance of activities.  You just need your imagination, a health curiosity about your community and the motivation to get up and get moving!

We want to make sure you don’t catch yourself thinking you’ve run out of ideas on how to spend your valuable free time.  We compiled a list of 365 things to do in the Cape Fear region in 2022 — one for each day of the year!
Enjoy and let us know what we have yet to discover that could make our list next year!

THE ICONIC STUFF

It seems only appropriate to begin our list with those things that you can’t do or see anywhere else. The Cape Fear Region is blessed with geographic wonders and man made history that make this area truly unique. Here are some of our favorites.

THE BEACHES

The Cape Fear Region is a water community. Our beaches put us on the map. In 2019 (the last year before Covid) approximately 12.1 million people visited the Carolina coast with more than three out of four of those tourists spending at least one night. They come here to swim, to rent boats, to fish, to take pictures of sunrises or simply to grab a beach chair and soak up the rays. Each of the beaches in the Cape Fear Region is unique and special. Visitors tend to be loyal to their favorite designations. They return year after year to the same spot. The beach seasons of course run officially from Memorial to Labor Day, but for locals or those traveling a short distance, the reason really runs from April to October.

FESTIVALS

Nothing brings people together like a festival and a good parade. Every year each of the three counties that make up the Cape Fear Region hosts gatherings to celebrate the Carolina way of life. We honor azaleas, blueberries, the spot fish, classic cars, independent films, beer, jazz plus the Greek and Polish cultures. Each festival offers interesting food, arts and crafts and typically live music. And while it’s possible, in a typical year, to build your calendar around such events, our list here includes several festivals that at the moment (because of Covid) have yet to nail down firm dates in 2022. For the latest information on these events you can always call our office at 910-202-4813.

You could easily golf once a week for an entire year without repeating a hole. The list here includes only public courses.
