The Wall That Heals is now open to visitors at Veterans Memorial Park in Whiteville — and for many, it’s more than just a replica. It’s a powerful space to remember, reflect, and honor the 58,000 Americans who lost their lives in the Vietnam War.
This 3/4 scale version of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. is etched with every name, each one a story of sacrifice. Accompanying the Wall is a mobile education center that brings those stories to life — with photos of the fallen, background on the war, and memorabilia left at the original memorial in D.C.
For veterans, families, and even those too young to remember the war firsthand, the Wall That Heals offers a deeply personal connection to history. It’s a chance to pay respects, to grieve, to learn — and to ensure that the names carved into the granite are never forgotten.
The Wall will remain open through Sunday afternoon. It’s free to visit and open 24 hours a day during its stay — a quiet, powerful space for our community to come together.
