Covil Crossing is one of the handful of communities that make up the larger Covil Estates. It’s located off Military Cutoff. Like the other neighborhoods in the bigger development, Covil Crossing is within walking distance of the Mayfaire Shopping Center and only three and half miles from Wrightsville Beach. All the communities share the same community pool, tennis courts and clubhouse.
The difference between Covil Crossing and the other neighborhoods is the size of the homes. The houses here are smaller and closer together. Most of the homes range between 2,200 square feet and 2,500 square feet offering three to four bedrooms in a split floor plan. The average lot size is one fifth of an acre, where the other communities in Covil Estates sit on at least a third of an acre.
These are patio homes, and while the other neighborhoods are designed for families, you get the sense that Covil Crossing is for retired and empty nesters.
Consequently, once they get here people do not move. In the last 12 months 3 homes have sold in the neighborhood, for an average price of $645,000.
For those with kids looking in Covil Crossing, the neighborhood is located in the Blair Elementary, Noble Middle, New Hanover High school district.
