Georgetowne is a community of traditional and transitional brick homes. It is located near Monkey Junction, The Point at Barclay, New Hanover Regional Medical Center and Halyburton Park. It is a short drive to downtown Wilmington and roughly an equal 10 miles, to either Wrightsville or Carolina Beach.
The neighborhood’s main entrance is off of College road, one of the main drags in Wilmington. You can’t turn left to enter the neighborhood. Motorists traveling north have to go to a nearby medium. There is a back entrance to the neighborhood off the far less traveled St. Andrews Drive.
The main entrance is well landscaped with colorful flowers surrounding a red brick wall with a stately wrought iron gate.
Georgetowne has a feeling of being a neighborhood of young and upcoming executives. The community area is designed for families, with a small playground, soccer field and pool. In 2020 the annual HOA dues were $820.

The neighborhood is located in the Pine Valley Elementary, Myrtle Grove Middle, Hoggard High school district.
