Hanover Heights is an older neighborhood within the Wilmington city limits. It has entrances off both Carolina Beach Road and Shipyard Boulevard. The community is in close proximity to The Pointe shopping Center, New Hanover Regional Medical Center, and the Monkey Junction area. It is only a 10 minute drive to downtown Wilmington, and a 15 minute drive to Wrightsville Beach.
Developers broke ground on the subdivision in the mid 1950’s with the last homes being built in the early 1960’s. This was back in the days when properties were not built right on top of each other. The average lot size in this neighborhood is over a half acre.
Hanover Heights is almost exclusively made up of single family ranch style homes. Most have brick exteriors but there are several with wood and Hardie Plank siding. Although this community lacks amenities found in other areas, there is a small city park located directly in the center of the subdivision.
In the last 12 months a total of ten homes have sold in Hanover Heights for an average price of $300,780.
Hanover Heights is located in the Alderman Elementary, Williston Middle, Ashley High school district.
