The Kure Estates neighborhood is located off Fort Fisher Boulevard in the town of Kure Beach. This is one of the highest elevated beach towns in the Southeast, consequently the entire neighborhood is out of the flood zone.
Nearly all of the homes are built on stilts, with garages on the ground level and living space on the two levels above that. Most were built in the mid-1990s to the early 2000s, although a handful of homes have been added to the neighborhood since then, and there are a few empty lots that have yet to be developed.
This is a great neighborhood for people who want to be close to the beach (within easy walking distance), and close to downtown Wilmington (about 17 miles.) A few homes in the neighborhood are used as short term rentals, but the vast majority are either owner occupied or second homes used only by the owners and their families.
The HOA is self-managed by the residents, keeping the dues quite low. In 2020, homeowners paid $395.00 per year for access to the pool, pool house, and an oceanfront gazebo with a small parking lot for beachgoers.
In the last 12 months three homes have sold for an average price of $1,151,666
