Southwood is a small community of detached condominiums located off Shipyard Boulevard in Wilmington’s Midtown area.
In all there is a total of 30 homes that are identical to each other. Each features three bedrooms and two bathrooms and measures 1,250 square feet. A few homes in the neighborhood have screened porches, with added heating and cooling, which adds to their square footage. The layouts are virtually all the same.
Southwood is in close proximity to New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Legion Field, Greenfield Park, the Pointe shopping center and Halyburton Park. It is only about a ten minute drive to downtown and a fifteen minute drive to Wrightsville Beach.
This is the type of community where people stay put. Southwood does have an HOA that takes care of lawncare and the exterior of the buildings. When last updated the annual fees were $2,200.
The neighborhood is located in the Pine Valley Elementary, Williston Middle, Ashley High school district.
