The development can be accessed by either Highway 17 or Thomasboro Road. It is technically located in Carolina Shores, North Carolina, but that town has really been engulfed by the city of Calabash.
The Farm was built by DR Horton with several ponds and mini lakes, as the center of each neighborhood. The neighborhood is in close proximity to several area beaches, shopping, restaurants, medical facilities, over 120 top golf courses, and fishing and boating. It is only two miles from the South Carolina state line and about an hour from the city of Wilmington
Amenities in the neighborhood include a clubhouse in the shape of a barn, a pool, several community green spaces, and playground.
The homes in the neighborhood offer either three or four bedrooms and range in size between 1,300 square feet and 3,400 square feet.
The Farm gathered national attention after some homes and other structures were damaged by possible tornadoes. The storms were a direct result of Hurricane Isaias.
In the last 12 months a total of 20 homes have sold in the neighborhood for an average price of $321,745.
The Farm is located in the Jesse Mae Monroe Elementary, Shallotte Middle and West Brunswick High school district.
