Wildwood Village is a small subdivision located in Shallotte off Highway 17.
Construction in the neighborhood started in 2006. After the housing market crashed in 2008, the development process stopped. It picked up in 2016. The latest homes were erected in 2020, but there are still lots that are for sale.
The most recent homes were developed by the DR Horton company. Owners could choose between a half-a-dozen floor plans. Most of the homes in the neighborhood are single story, and offer three bedrooms and two bathrooms. There are a few homes that offer up to five bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Wildwood Village is roughly 30 minutes from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and 45 minutes to downtown Wilmington. The nearest beach is at Ocean Isle which is roughly 13 minutes away.
While we love the size of the lots in Wildwood Village, our least favorite aspect of the neighborhood is the intersection where the subdivision is located. It sits at the corner of Highway 17 and Old Shallotte. Those two streets come together in kind of a “Y” shape. During our visit it was frankly very confusing to get in and out of the neighborhood. Obviously homeowners will become accustomed to navigating the two roads, but in our opinion this may be a slight concern for visitors and out of town family.
In the last 12 months a total of 18 homes have sold in the neighborhood for an average price of $250,166.
Wildwood Village is located in the Supply Elementary, Shallote Middle, West Brunswick High school district.
