Winding Creek is a small community off Highway 133 in Rocky Point. The neighborhood is shaped by two main streets, Winding Creek Road and Quail Run Drive, that converge to form a giant horseshoe. Currently the neighborhood is made up of roughly 70 homes. A few of them were built in the 80’s and 90’s but the vast majority went up after the millennium. There are also a few lots that have never been developed.
With only a few exceptions all the homes offer three bedrooms and three baths. Some have been listed with open floor plans, while the older properties offer a more traditional layout. A few of the homes are lake front properties, although it is a small body of water that comes off Turkey Creek.
Winding Creek is roughly 10 minutes from Castle Hayne, 15 minutes from Burgaw, and depending on traffic 25 to 30 minutes from downtown Wilmington or Wrightsville Beach.
Our favorite part of the neighborhood are the trees and the landscaping. Like many subdivisions in Rocky Point, the lots in Winding Creek are large! The smallest measure just under a half acre, with many homes siting on one acre or more. All of them are meticulously manicured and shaded by a large variety of trees.
Winding Creek is in the Rocky Point Elementary, Cape Fear Middle, Heide Trask High school districts.
