140-Year-Old Mansion in Downtown Wilmington is Going on the Auction Block

As the Summer Winds Down, the Days are Getting Longer
The biggest confirmation that the housing market is slowing down is that the number of days on the market is increasing. As of this writing there are currently 2,399 homes in the four counties served by Just For Buyers Realty (New Hanover, Brunswick, Pender and Onslow Counties.) If any town in southeastern North Carolina deserves the title of “Best Kept Secret,” it arguably could be Swansboro. Swansboro is a waterfront community with residents having access to several different bodies of water. It sits right where the IntraCoastal Waterway, the Bogue Inlet and the White River all converge- branching off those bodies are several tributaries and canals, and on top of that, access to the Atlantic Ocean is just a six minute drive from the town’s center. Luxury Homes Sales Increase in August but Prices Fall
August became the 27th month in a row where luxury home sales in New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties saw increases in year-to-year sales. A total of 60 homes with a price tag of $1 million or more sold in the tri-county in August 2022, compared to only 54 in August 2021.That’s the good news. The bad news, at least for those trying to sell luxury homes, may be prices are noticeably dropping. Learn more

One Columbus County Farm is Corny About a Popular Netflix Show
One of the biggest annual fall events in this part of North Carolina is the Maze Craze at Galloway Farms in Hallsboro. Each year, the owners carve a different pattern into their field. This year, as part of an agreement with Netflix, farm owners cut the logo from the popular series ‘Outer Banks’ into the maze.
