A Federal Court May Have to Decide the Rightful Owner of this Oceanfront Home
There’s a legal mystery on Wrightsville Beach that’s getting attention throughout North Carolina. News outlets from Raleigh to Charlotte are reporting on a dispute between two former co-workers over a 3,700 square foot, five bedroom, oceanfront estate. The annual 4th of July celebration is one of the oldest in the nation- it dates back all the way to 1795 . Events will kick off on Friday June 30th, and extend to Tuesday the 4th. Here is a partial rundown of events.
It’s Now the Busiest Port on the Continent, and Its About to Get Bigger
The North Carolina State Port is about to get much bigger. Last month it was announced that plans are moving forward for a $22.6 million expansion.The project will break ground in January and is scheduled to be finished some time in 2025. Learn more

Wilmington Exploring a Social District Pilot Program
The Wilmington City Council is studying something they call “social districts,” and wants to launch a pilot program by the end of the year. In a designated zone people would be allowed to openly carry alcohol from one establishment into another, or simply walk around and window shop while holding an adult beverage. Learn more.
Netflix’s Outer Banks to Film in Wilmington, Even as a Writer’s Strike Delays Other Productions
In July it’s lights, camera, action for the popular show Outer Banks. The Netflix program was created by twin Wilmington brothers. Most of the first three seasons were filmed in South Carolina, but this month the brothers get to bring production to their hometown. Read more
