Work Underway on New Hanover County’s Newest Gated Community
Three home builders have teamed up with real estate developer 34 North Properties to design New Hanover County’s newest amenity rich, gated community. Sunset Reach will be located off Rockhill Road just west of Interstate 140. Many of the properties will overlook the Northeast Cape Fear River. Once complete there will be 74 custom built single family homes, plus 65 townhomes. Learn more.
Wilmington Wins the Battle Over Brunswick County
For nearly two decades, the cities of Wilmington, North Carolina and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina have been fighting over Brunswick County. With a major ruling in July, it appears Wilmington has won- at least for now. Read more
The Numbers are in on Live Oak Bank Pavilion and it’s a Hit!
Although in officially opened in the summer of 2021, right in the middle of the pandemic, 2022 is really Live Oak Bank Pavilion’s first complete seasons. And now the numbers are in. According to Wilmington Community Services Director Amy Beatty in 2022:
- 110,000 people attended a show at Live Oak Pavilion
- Wilmington raised $425,000 from the shows
- 620 new local jobs were created through the Pavilion from entry level to professional positions
North Carolina Tops the Ranks for Business
The cable business channel CNBC has just named North Carolina America’s Top State for Business. This is the second consecutive year that the Tar Heel state has topped the list. And it’s first time that one state has taken top honors in back-to-back years. Read more
Castle Street Restaurant Places in Top Five in National Competition
On Thyme Restaurant on Castle Street is one of 10 winners of a competition held by Pepsi Co. The soft drink company recently launched an effort to identify the best “black-owned” restaurants in the country.. Learn more

L.O.V.E. stands for “Live On Vacation Everyday.” It is our JFB mantra to remind ourselves that we live in a truly special part of the world, and that we need to get out there and enjoy our surroundings!
